Building the Vision at St. Joseph Medical Center
This is perhaps the most exciting time in the history of St. Joseph Medical Center. From its humble beginnings by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia who provided care and compassion to Baltimore’s new immigrants and to wounded soldiers in the Civil War, St. Joseph has grown into a regional, destination medical center that attracts patients from all over Maryland, all over the country and all over the world.
Over the next two and a half years, the campus will expand and transform to accommodate tremendous growth in many different ways. By investing $100 million in the expansion and renovation of St. Joseph, the growing community it serves will benefit from:
a new, expanded and consolidated Heart Institute
a state-of-the-art Cancer Institute with some of the finest cancer specialists available
a new Medical Office Building to provide on campus, easy to access office space for the growing number of outstanding heart experts that choose St. Joseph as their hospital base
a beautiful new, soaring front entrance and lobby that will match the state of art institution that St. Joseph has become and welcome patients and visitors to the compassionate care that is the hallmark of St. Joseph.
