The Digestive Disease Center (DDC) is a state-of-the-art facility developed for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases. The facility, which offers a full range of  procedures, is staffed by physicians and nursing personnel with special interest and training in this specialty. Minor procedures, requiring only local anesthetic, are also performed in this area.
The unit offers diagnostic and therapeutic treatment to both inpatients and outpatients. Personnel are on-call from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for emergencies.

Pre-registration for your procedure
Pre-registration is a function performed within the Patient Access Department of St. Joseph Medical Center. To expedite registration, you have the ability to complete pre-registration through the power of the internet. This Web Site allows you to complete the pre-registration process from your home and other locations with Internet access.

Pre-registration can be completed several different ways for the patient's convenience. Choose one of the following options:
1. Complete the Form Online
2. Pre-register by telephone, call the Patient Access Department at 410-337-1626.

Scheduling Procedures
Procedures to be performed in DDC are scheduled by the primary care physician’s office through the Surgical Scheduling Office. If the phone lines are busy, please leave a short message and a scheduling representative will return the call as soon as possible. Procedure requests may be faxed to the scheduling office and will be taken care of by a scheduling representative. When faxing requests, all pertinent procedural and patient information should be included on the form i.e. procedure to be done, date and time requested, patient name, patient phone number, date of birth, social security number, patient status and special needs. All procedures need to be posted by 4:15 p.m. to be reflected on the next day schedule.
